Shito Ryu Shukokai Karate Union Greece, have organised seminars of traditional Japanese Karate during 2, 3 & 4 of November 2006, in which sensei Tsutomu Kamohara (8 Dan) has teached, (8th Dan Chief Instructor & Vice-President of Shito-Ryu Shukokai Union Europe) . It is also worth mentioning that these seminars have been organised under the kind support of the Municipal Athletic Organisation of Heraklion (DAOH) and the Municipality of Heraklion of Crete.
In this seminar, a strong emphasis has been given on the basics of Karate Do, training has been performed in depth on basic kata techniques and a discussion has also taken place between the Japanese sensei and the Greek instructors, concerning the histry of kata and the philosophy of Karate Do. Amongst the kata that were taught, were Aoyagi (Green Nature), Chinte (Rare hand), Niseishi (24 steps).
Shito Ryu Shukokai Karate Union Greece invites on a annual basis this top-level instructor in the interest of the continuous study of their students and instructors. The seminar had a participation of over 100 students and instructors and constitutes a forerunner of the important events that have been scheduled for 2007.
Shito Ryu Shukokai Karate Union Greece, remaining always active, is organising a series of athletic events of local, national and international character for 2007 in the city of Heraklion. It is worth mentioning that the undertaking of this so important event from Shito Ryu Shukokai Karate Union Greece and its organising in the city of Heraklion, will offer a strong thrust to the city's athletic life, since there are athletes from all over Europe who will travel to our country in order to compete.
Thanks to the tireless eforts of the representative of the European Shukokai Karate Do Union in Greece, Nikolaos Karaiskakis - 5 Dan, who is also Chief instructor and A' Vice President of Shito Ryu Shukokai Karate Union Greece, as well as of the Directory Committee - which consists of its President Anna ourdaki - 5 Dan, its B' Vice President George Plousos - 2 Dan, its General Secretary Stergios Tsakalakis - 2 Dan, its Treasurer Emmanouel Amargiotakis - 1 Dan, its members Nikolaos Pitsitakis - 1 Dan, Dimitrios Petrakis -1 Dan (International Public Relations) - Shito Ryu Shukokai Karate Union Greece continues following a progressive course that has started in 2004 and promises even more for the future
All athletic unions that comprise Shito Ryu Shukokai Karate Union Greece, are officially recognised by the Greek General Department of Sports and are members of the Greek Karate Federation (the official federation aproved by the governent).
